This is to confirm that the new BLR airport will commence operations on 24 May 2008 at 0001 Hrs LT.

Please advice passengers the following:
1. The new airport is about 40 km from the city center and travel time from the city could take between 1 hr and 2.5 hrs depending on traffic conditions. Various transportation facilities are available. Please check www.bialairport.com for more information on transport.
2. BIAL has introduced an Airport User Fee of INR 1070 for all passengers departing at the new airport.
2.1 The fee will apply to all International departures for sale within and outside
· Infants under two years of age.
· Transit/transfer passengers within 6 hours.
· Involuntary rerouting, eg. due to technical problems or weather conditions.
2.2 This fee has been incorporated for all tickets for travel from 1 July, and purchased after 5 May and must be reflected on the tax box of the ticket under the designated code -IN.
2.3 For those tickets where the IN tax has not been collected (i.e. for travel before 1 July or purchased before 5 May), passengers will be require to pay the fee before clearing immigration on departure from BLR.
