Air India to start daily direct flight between Delhi & Aurangabad from next month
Air India will introduce daily direct flights from Delhi to Aurangabad effective November 1, 2010.

Secure Flight Data must be updated even for existing bookings
Informing its Indian customers on the new official regulations regarding air passenger data for flights to the USA, Lufthansa German Airlines said effective November 1, 2010 as part of the Secure Flight Programme, air passengers must include their date of birth and gender in addition to their full name on all bookings not later than 72 hours before their intended departure. This regulation applies to all international flights to and from the United States, as well as to flights within the US, irrespective of when the booking was made. Passengers who fail to provide the necessary Secure Flight Passenger Data may be refused boarding by the US authorities.
New terminal at Varanasi Airport to be operational from next month
Completed at the cost of Rs 150 crore, the new centrally air-conditioned terminal building has the capacity to handle 800 passengers at a given time.
The new integrated passenger terminal of Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport at Babatpur in Varanasi will become functional within a month. While Airport Authority of India (AAI) has asked the airport administration to start operations from the new terminal from October 25, 2010, local authorities said they need more time, but would definitely start operations from next month.
Completed at the cost of Rs 150 crore, the new centrally air-conditioned terminal building has the capacity to handle 800 passengers at a given time. It has two aero-bridges, four escalators and five lifts. The terminal has 26 immigration counters, 16 check-in counters and seven customs counters.
Alitalia and Jet Airways to operate codeshare flights between Milan & New Delhi from December 5, 2010
The agreement strengthens Alitalia’s offer from the Milan Malpensa Airport and will contribute to the growth of Alitalia and SkyTeam on the Far East market, where the alliance already holds a leadership position.
Alitalia and Jet Airways have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that confirms the airlines’ intention to operate codeshare flights this winter season. With the agreement Jet Airways customers around the world will be able to fly to new Italian destinations, served by Alitalia. Alitalia customers will be able to fly directly from Italy to India with new destinations. Jet Airways will operate daily direct services between Milan Malpensa and New Delhi starting on December 5, 2010.
Under the proposed deal, Jet Airways will place its two-letter ‘9W’ code on selected services operated by Alitalia. In turn, Alitalia will place its ‘AZ’ code on Jet Airways’ selected services, including flights between Italy and India. AirAsia to introduce flights from Bangkok to Delhi and Kolkata from December 1, 2010
Hopeful of commencing operations between Mumbai – Bangkok or Mumbai – Phuket by Quarter Three of next year.
AirAsia will connect Bangkok with Delhi and Kolkata from December 1, 2010. While the Low Cost Carrier (LCC) will operate a daily flight on Bangkok-Kolkata route, the Bangkok-Delhi route will be served four days a week. To celebrate the launch, AirAsia has announced special inaugural fares starting from Rs 4,500 one way from Delhi and Rs 2,500 one way from Kolkata to Bangkok for travel between December 1, 2010 and August 11, 2011

According to a PTI report, Air India will introduce a flight to Chicago from Hyderabad via Delhi from October 31, 2010. The airline sources said that the airline is also planning to launch a direct service to San Francisco. The airline will deploy Boeing 777-300 extended range aircraft to operate the flight direct from Delhi, they said, adding that for the first time Air India would fly a Boeing 777 from Hyderabad. |

Effective October 31, 2010, Swiss International Air Lines will offer daily flights on both its Indian routes. On the Delhi – Zurich route, two additional flights will be added to the current five weekly flights and on the Mumbai – Zurich route one additional flight will be added to the current six weekly schedule. |
Turkish Airlines to Launch Direct Flights to Washington DC and Los Angeles
Turkish Airlines is preparing to launch non-stop flights to the United States from Istanbul.
Flights to Washington will be operated five times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays with effect from 7 November 2010.
Commencing 3 March 2011, Turkish Airlines will fly four times weekly to Los Angeles on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
