UDF Collection at the HYD Airport

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd GHIAL defines process for collection of Additional UDF User Development Fee from all outbound passengers travelling from 8th November 2010

Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has approved collection of additional UDF from all the outbound passengers traveling from RGIA, Hyderabad effective from 1st November, 2010. The additional UDF charges are Rs. 100/- (inclusive of taxes) per head for domestic outbound passengers and Rs.875/- (inclusive of taxes) per head for international outbound passengers.

Effective 08th November, 2010 the differential UDF will be collected at the Airport before issue of boarding pass from those passengers who have not been charged the additional UDF as a part of the ticket issued to them by the Airlines/Agents.

The passengers have the choice to pay the additional UDF either in Cash or Credit/Debit Card at the airport or on line by logging on to www.hyderabad.aero

The boarding pass will be issued at the check-in counter on showing the receipt against payment of additional UDF.



India extends Visa on Arrival facility to four ASEAN countries

In an initiative to boost tourist traffic from Association of Southeast Asian (ASEAN) nations, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh recently announced Visa on Arrival (VoA) facility for nationals of Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The facility can be availed starting January 1, 2011.


Mumbai Airport’s main runway to be closed for repairs till July next year 

According to a PTI report, the main runway at Mumbai Airport will remain closed for operations between 9 am and 5 pm every day except Sunday till July next year, as the airport authorities are set to undertake runway reconstruction work from today. However, flight operations at secondary or cross-runway would continue. The reconstruction work, which is being carried out in three phases with prior permission of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), is a part of the overall effort to upgrade the cross runway system and create an efficient air side infrastructure at Mumbai Airport.

While first phase of the runway reconstruction work, which commenced on September 23, 2010 is expected to be completed by February next year, the second phase will start from November 1, 2010 and be completed by June 1, 2011. The third phase of the runway reconstruction work will be taken up from February 1, 2011 and will be completed by July 1, 2011. Along with work on the primary runway, other associated infrastructure work will also be carried out.
IndiGo to launch three new flights from Kolkata next month 

IndiGo is set to launch three new flights on its already-strong network. The airline will operate its third non-stop daily flight on the Kolkata-Agartala route, and second non-stop daily flights on Kolkata to Jaipur sector. In addition, Kolkata will be now connected with Ahmedabad with three daily flights.

The new flights will provide increased frequencies on the routes and offer greater travel options for its customers and will commence effective November 7, 2010 and November 18, 2010 respectively. The new services reinforce IndiGo’s leadership in the Indian skies, with its 207 daily flights connecting 22 destinations across the nation.

Etihad Airways to commence 'all Economy' Class service to six destinations from October 31, 2010

The ‘all Economy’ services to  the Indian Subcontinent will operate daily to Thiruvananthapuram on EY272/273; three times weekly on Calicut flights EY 250/251
Etihad Airways will start its first ‘all Economy’ Class service to Alexandria, Colombo, Damascus, Thiruvananthapuram, Calicut and Peshawar from October 31, 2010.  The A320 will be configured to carry 162 Economy Class passengers, an increase of 42 from the current economy capacity.

The ‘all Economy’ services will operate on all four weekly return flights to Alexandria, operating as Etihad flights EY663/662.

The ‘all Economy’ services to Damascus will be available on flight EY541/542, one of the airline’s double daily return services to the city.

The ‘all Economy’ services to  the Indian Subcontinent will operate daily to Thiruvananthapuram on EY272/273; three times weekly on Calicut flights EY 250/251; twice weekly on flights to Peshawar in Pakistan on EY261/262; and four times weekly to the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, operating on EY 266/267.

Delta Air Lines launches twice weekly nonstop service between Detroit and Sao Paulo

The flights will be operated with 216-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, with 35 BusinessElite seats and 181 seats in Economy Class.
Delta Air Lines has introduced twice weekly nonstop service from Detroit, USA to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and from December 15, 2010 it will increase it to five days a week to coincide with the start of the Brazilian tourist season. The flights will be operated with 216-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, with 35 BusinessElite seats and 181 seats in Economy Class.

To celebrate the new service, Delta Airlines is offering special introductory fares, starting at USD 399 each way from Detroit to Sao Paulo and USD 499 each way from Sao Paulo to Detroit, for travel from October 28, 2010 through February 25, 2011. Additional taxes, fees, restrictions and baggage charges may apply. 
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to introduce flights from Amsterdam to Miami from March 27, 2011 
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced that it will introduce four-times-a-week return service from Amsterdam to Miami International Airport from the start of the summer schedule on March 27, 2011, re-launching its direct service to Miami that was suspended in September 2004.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will operate this service using MD-11 equipment. This aircraft seats 285 passengers – 24 in World Business Class, 38 in Economy Comfort Class and 223 in Economy Class. All seats are equipped with a personal screen and interactive entertainment. 
The Amsterdam-Miami service will depart from Amsterdam every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 15:10 hours, arriving in Miami at 19:10 hours local time. The return flight will depart from Miami the same day at 21:15 local time and arrive the next day at 12.05 in Amsterdam local time. Bookings have been opened for this service.
Kingfisher Airlines to launch 22 additional domestic flights from October 31, 2010 
Kingfisher Airlines has announced that from October 31, 2010 its winter schedule would feature 22 more flights covering four winter routes, four additional frequencies on existing routes and reinstatement of two routes.
The key highlights of the 2010 Winter Schedule are:-
Four new routes in the 2010 winter schedule namely Varanasi- Khajuraho, Udaipur-Jaipur, Jaipur-Jodhpur and New Delhi-Agra 
Two additional flights have been introduced on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route taking the total number of daily flights on this route to three flights a day in each direction
An additional flight has also been introduced on the New Delhi-Lucknow route taking the total number of daily flights on this route to three flights a day
An additional flight has been introduced between Mumbai-New Delhi and New Delhi- Mumbai
One flight each on the Mumbai–Kolkata–Mumbai route and the New Delhi–Indore–New Delhi route has been reinstated.
